The Spare The Air program is designed to promote thriving and equitable neighborhoods where healthy, clean air is common to all. Within the counties we serve, you can find real-time air quality conditions at AirNow.gov.
There are a total of 15 regulatory air quality monitors throughout the Sacramento Federal Nonattainment Area that measure ground-level ozone and/or particulate matter (PM2.5). The data from these monitors are used to develop localized air quality index (AQI) measurements. This data is for public information reporting and forecasting only. Per state and federal regulations, AQI data are not used for attainment determination purposes.
