01 Oct Take the pledge this Clean Air Day and Spare the Air!
Oct. 7, 2026, is California Clean Air Day! It’s an opportunity for Californians across the state to come together, take the Clean Air Day pledge and take simple steps to help improve air quality. Whether it’s choosing a cleaner way to get around or combining errands into one trip, every action can make a difference. Some ways to support include:
- Taking public transit
- Walk or bike to school and work
- Carpooling or combining trips

Another way to participate in California Clean Air Day is by attending an event in your region, taking the pledge or making a change to help reduce air pollution.
In honor of the ninth annual California Clean Air Day, various regional transit providers will be offering incentives:
- El Dorado Transit offers free rides on their commuter and local route buses all day on Oct. 7
- SacRT is offering complimentary rides on fixed-route bus and light rail with a “Ride Transit” flyer. Print or screenshot the flyer to ride for free. Find the “Ride Transit” flyer here!
If you don’t see your local transit agency listed, check directly with them to find out if they’re offering any special perks for California Clean Air Day.
Take the Clean Air Day Pledge and do your part to reduce air pollution! Taking the pledge is simple. Enter your contact information, choose your pledge actions, and share your experience with others in your community!
