The 2025 Spare The Air season wraps up on October 31, marking another successful year of promoting cleaner air across the Sacramento region.

Each year, Spare The Air helps residents understand how air pollution affects our health and the environment, and how we can all make a difference when it comes to reducing air pollution. This regional effort is made possible through a collaboration between the Sac Metro Air District, El Dorado County Air Quality Management District, Placer County Air Pollution Control District, and the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District.

Keeping You Up to Date

This season, we distributed six newsletters to our 3,481 partners, highlighting key tips, resources, and updates about improving air quality and how people can help. Previous month’s topics included:

Where in the Sacramento Region is Scooter?

Scooter, our Spare The Air mascot, and his team were busy this season, attending 28 community events across five counties, including:

• 12 in Sacramento County
• 8 in Placer County
• 5 in Yolo-Solano Counties
• 3 in El Dorado County

Scooter loved meeting new people and visiting familiar friends while spreading the clean air message throughout the region.
